Defending champions Muscat continued to underline their title credentials in the 2026/2027 Youth Indoor Handball League, recording a commanding 40-10 victory over Al Amerat to strengthen their position at the top of Group One after the third week of competition.
The round also produced important wins for Oman Club, Seeb, Al Rustaq, Al Ittihad and Nizwa, keeping the qualification race alive as clubs look to secure places in the second round.
Muscat have made an impressive start to their title defence, moving to eight points after another dominant display. They took control against Al Amerat early in the contest, establishing a 21-4 lead at half-time before maintaining their attacking intensity in the second period to complete a 30-goal victory.
The result highlighted Muscat’s scoring power and their ability to dictate the pace of a match. With their position at the top of Group One strengthened, the defending champions will be keen to maintain their consistency and secure qualification for the next stage.
Elsewhere in Group One, Al Ittihad overcame Masirah 35-30 in a more closely contested encounter. The victory earned Al Ittihad two valuable points in a competition where every result could influence the final standings.
Nizwa also capitalised on home advantage to beat Ibri 24-18 at the Nizwa Club sports hall. The result provided a timely boost to their campaign as they seek to improve their position and remain in contention for a place in the second round.
In Group Two, Oman Club produced one of the most convincing performances of the week, defeating Al Khabourah 44-18. Their tally was the highest among the winning teams in the round, reflecting an effective attacking display that enabled them to establish a substantial advantage.
Oman Club’s emphatic victory will provide encouragement as the competition progresses, with the team looking to build on the result and strengthen its qualification prospects.
Seeb also enjoyed a successful outing, beating Majees 32-17 at the Sohar Sports Complex to collect two important points. Al Rustaq completed the round’s results with a 26-14 victory over Saham at the Al Rustaq Club sports hall, using home advantage to secure a comfortable win.
The third week demonstrated the importance of consistency across both groups, with several clubs taking significant steps towards improving their standings. While Muscat have established themselves as strong contenders in Group One, the results elsewhere underline the continuing competition for qualification places.
Attention now turns to the upcoming rounds, when clubs will have further opportunities to strengthen their positions. Muscat will aim to maintain their winning momentum, while Oman Club, Seeb, Al Rustaq and the other contenders will seek to turn their latest results into sustained progress towards the second round.
