Injuries, damages confirmed in Sunday's Riyadh airport attack

Riyadh:  The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was subjected to a new attack on Sunday afternoon, October 11, 2026.

GACA explained that the attack resulted in injuries, and the assessment of damages and verification of the safety of facilities is ongoing, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Saudi-led international coalition fighting Yemen's Ansar Allah said on Sunday that an unidentified projectile hit a terminal at Riyadh airport.

Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Malki said the projectile struck Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport, causing a fire. He added that air defences also 'intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile' in the vicinity of the airport.
