Flight operations at Riyadh airport suspended till 9pm

Muscat: The closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has been extended by another 24 hours, until 9 pm on Sunday, according to Flightradar 24.

Flights from Muscat to Riyadh by Oman Air and SalamAir have been also suspended for Monday.

All flights were suspended at King Khalid International Airport following the attack, with disruption continuing into Sunday, with more than 81 per cent of flights showing as cancelled according to Flightradar24.

According to aviation analytical company, Cirium, around 141 flights scheduled to depart on Saturday afternoon were mostly cancelled after the attacks.

It was the first time King Fahd International Airport, one of the Kingdom's busiest transport hubs, had been targetted since the Iran war erupted on Feb. 28.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry has asked those who had been unable to reach their destinations in the Kingdom from abroad because of the disruption should contact the Saudi missions in the countries where they are located to request assistance.
