Oman, India discuss boosting economic partnership

NEW DELHI: The 15th session of the Strategic Consultation Group meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India was held on Wednesday in New Delhi. The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Indian side was headed by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs for Consular, Passport and Overseas Indian Affairs.
The meeting included discussions on ways to activate the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, contributing to enhancing commercial and investment exchange and expanding horizons of joint economic cooperation. The two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation in the fields of civil aviation, maritime transport, logistics and energy, alongside discussing several consular issues and bilateral agreements, and exchanging views on regional developments.
The meeting was attended by Issa bin Saleh al Shaibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of India, and a number of officials from both sides. — ONA
