MUSCAT: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) brought together leaders of Oman’s civil aviation sector to strengthen coordination, improve operational readiness and support an efficient response to changing conditions.
Chaired by Eng Naif bin Ali al Abri, President of the CAA, the meeting focused on closer cooperation among the sector’s institutions and aligning their roles and responsibilities with the National Aviation Strategy 2040.
Al Abri said a coordinated approach was essential to strengthening the civil aviation system, highlighting the authority’s commitment to partnership and continuous communication across the sector.
“We are committed to working as one sector, with integrated roles and concerted efforts, and ensuring that communication and coordination channels remain continuous and effective,” he said.
“The integration of the civil aviation system is the foundation for enhancing its readiness and ability to efficiently respond to various changes and challenges.”
Participants visited the Muscat Air Traffic Control Centre to review its operations and air traffic management system. The visit examined the coordination required to maintain safety and the smooth flow of aircraft through Omani airspace.
They also toured the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, where they reviewed monitoring and early warning systems, alongside coordination and response procedures for weather conditions that could affect operations.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained communication among aviation leaders and closer cooperation between relevant institutions to strengthen the sector’s readiness, resilience and safety.
