Official reception accorded for His Majesty in Astana

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik was accorded an official reception ceremony on the occasion of the state visit His Majesty is paying to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty's motorcade at the Palace of Independence in the Kazakh capital, Astana, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed those receiving His Majesty the Sultan.

The President of Kazakhstan welcomed His Majesty as a dear guest to his country, wishing His Majesty and the accompanying official delegation a pleasant visit crowned with success.

Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with senior officials and those receiving him on the Kazakh side, while the President of Kazakhstan shook hands with the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan.

His Majesty the Sultan and the President of Kazakhstan then ascended the dais of honour, where the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of Kazakhstan were played, after which His Majesty the Sultan graciously inspected the Guard of Honour.

Subsequently, commemorative photographs were taken of His Majesty the Sultan and the President of Kazakhstan on this occasion at the Palace of Independence.
