MUSCAT: Represented by Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the Sultanate of Oman on Monday hosted the 25th meeting of the Committee of E-Learning Officials from GCC universities and higher education institutions.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of SQU.
The meeting, which saw the participation of representatives of 32 universities and higher education institutions from GCC states, sought to enhance cooperation and coordination for facilitating the exchange of expertise and practices on developing e-learning and teaching systems. It also outlined future approaches envisaged by the Committee.
In a speech on the occasion, Salim bin Jabir al Waeli, Director of the SQU Educational Technologies Centre, said that the meeting aimed to underscore the importance of consolidating frameworks for cooperation and coordination among GCC higher education institutions. — ONA
