MoH forms two committees to handle medical grievances

 

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH) issued a ministerial decision to form two committees to handle medical grievances related to the Social Protection Fund and the Fund for Retirement of Military and Security Services.

Ministerial Decision No. 29/2026 establishes the Medical Grievances Committee for the Social Protection Fund and the Medical Grievances Committee for Military and Security Services Retirement Fund, in accordance with the Social Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 52/2023.

The decision sets out the composition and terms of reference of the two committees.

Each committee will consist of at least five original members, including a chairperson and deputy chairperson, along with a number of reserve members.

The chairperson, deputy chairperson, original members and reserve members will be appointed by a decision of the Minister of Health. Each committee will also include a consulting doctor.

The deputy chairperson will assume the chairperson’s duties in the event of the latter’s absence, provided there is no impediment preventing them from carrying out their responsibilities.

Reserve members will replace original members in the event of their absence or if any impediment prevents them from performing their duties.
