Oman Corporate League 2026 draw held at Sultan Haitham City

MUSCAT: The official draw ceremony for the Oman Corporate League OCL 2026 was held on Wednesday at the Experience and Sales Centre in Sultan Haitham City, ahead of the football tournament’s scheduled competition in Muscat from October 4 to 11.
The event was held under the auspices of Dr Salim bin Abdullah al Abdali, Director-General of Human Resources at the Royal Court Affairs, and was attended by officials, representatives of participating companies and tournament partners, including Dr Ahmed bin Murad al Balushi.
The tournament is organised by Sport Makers in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. The draw evening brought together representatives of participating companies and provided an overview of the tournament format, groups and competition pathway.

The 2026 edition will feature three separate competitions: Category A, Category B and Category +40, providing companies with opportunities to compete across different categories.
In Category A, the draw placed Bank Nizwa, Omantel and OTE in the first group, while Ooredoo, ASYAD and Majid Al Futtaim were drawn together in the second group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the next stage.
In Category B, the first group consists of Al Maha, MDO, Daleel Petroleum and Abraj Energy, while the second group includes NBO, Oman Oil, Shell and MB. The first-placed and second-placed teams from each group will qualify for the following stage of the competition.
A separate Category +40 competition will also be held for older participants, with Daleel Petroleum, Abraj Energy, UES and Ooredoo forming the group.

BEYOND FOOTBALL
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Ahmed bin Murad al Balushi highlighted the importance of the Oman Corporate League in promoting sporting competition among companies and institutions. He noted that the diversity of participating teams and categories would contribute to a strong competitive environment while creating opportunities for interaction among employees from different sectors.
Waleed bin Juma al Obaidani, Chief Executive Officer of Sport Makers, said the tournament had developed beyond a football competition since its launch in 2018.
“Since the Oman Corporate League was launched in 2018, we have worked to make it more than a football competition. We wanted it to be a platform that enables company employees to practise sport, build bridges between institutions and create opportunities for Omani teams to participate outside the Sultanate of Oman,” Al Obaidani said.

He added: “We are proud to continue developing the tournament in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and to hold this year’s draw in Sultan Haitham City, which shares our ambition of creating more active communities.”
Al Obaidani also pointed to the league’s contribution to connecting domestic competitions with international participation, including corporate football and Socca tournaments.
“We look forward to delivering a 2026 edition that meets the expectations of the participating companies and gives their employees a sporting and social experience that extends beyond the final whistle,” he said.
The Oman Corporate League has continued since 2018 to promote corporate sport and provide competitive opportunities for teams representing companies from different sectors, while also supporting Oman’s participation in international competitions. Details of the match schedule and competition programme will be announced through the tournament’s official channels.
