Oman await qualification decision after beating Kuwait 3-1

Oman are waiting for the decision of the Gulf Cup 27 organising committee to determine their qualification status after finishing level with Iraq on points following a dramatic 3-1 comeback win over Kuwait on Tuesday.

Oman fell behind in the sixth minute when Shbib al Khaldi converted from a corner, but the Red Warriors responded strongly after the break. Nasser al Rawahi levelled in the 65th minute before completing the comeback with his second goal in the 81st minute. Musab al Shaqsi then sealed the victory in the 84th minute to complete a 3-1 win.

The result left Oman and Iraq level in the group standings, with the qualification position depending on the tournament regulations and the committee’s decision.

In the other Group A match, Saudi Arabia defeated Iraq 2-0, a result that further complicated the qualification calculations and left Oman awaiting the official outcome.
