Jamal supervises FIVB Level I Coaching Course in Abu Dhabi

MUSCAT: Oman’s international lecturer and national experienced volleyball coach Jamal bin Mohammed al Maamari successfully concluded recently his full supervision of the FIVB Level I International Coaching Course which took place in Abu Dhabi which took place during September 21 to 25 under the umbrella of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). The five-day course was organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with the UAE Volleyball Association, bringing together 45 men and women participants representing a diverse range of Gulf, Arab, Asian and European nationalities.
The comprehensive programme featured intensive theoretical and practical sessions including eight hours of training per day. The course covered the latest FIVB coaching methodologies, including the fundamentals of coaching, technical and tactical preparation, physical conditioning and the rules and regulations of volleyball.
Al Maamari is widely recognised as one of Oman’s experienced volleyball professionals, with extensive practical experience and a distinguished coaching and coach-development career at both domestic and international levels. He is an FIVB-accredited international lecturer and has contributed to numerous achievements with clubs and national teams throughout his career.
The course received positive feedback from participants, who praised its high level of organisation and the quality and depth of its educational content. The programme concluded with the distribution of official FIVB certificates to the participating coaches. Al Maamari’s successful supervision of the course further highlights the growing contribution of Omani volleyball expertise to international coach education and development.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE
Speaking to the Oman Observer, coach Jamal al Maamari described the FIVB Level I Coaching Course in Abu Dhabi as a valuable learning and knowledge-sharing experience for all those involved. “The programme brought together classroom-based instruction and practical sessions, giving the participating coaches an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the modern game. The course offered the participants a strong foundation in contemporary volleyball coaching. Through the combination of theory and practical work, the coaches were able to enhance their technical knowledge and practical understanding while gaining greater insight into the latest developments and demands of the coaching profession,” Al Maamari said.
He added that being selected by the FIVB to supervise the course was a significant honour and a rewarding professional experience. “Receiving this opportunity from the FIVB was a great honour for me. I was determined to make the most of the assignment and share the knowledge and experience I have gained over many years through coaching, education and continuous professional development. It was also an opportunity to contribute to the development of volleyball players, coaches and teams in Oman and beyond,” he ended.
