135 tonnes of treated sand returned to Salalah beach

SALALAH: The Environment Authority, in cooperation with Arva Greentech Remediation company, returned 135 tonnes of sand to its natural location on Auqad Beach in Salalah, after its complete clearance of any oil derivatives, as part of natural rehabilitation and environmental sanitation efforts for areas affected by the oil pollution witnessed on Salalah beach.
Ali bin Salim Bait Said, Director-General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate, stated that the return of these quantities of sand after their successful treatment represents a continuation of the national authority's efforts in preserving the Omani environment and sustaining its natural resources, emphasising that the keenness to utilise modern, innovative, and environmentally neutral technologies reflects the Environment Authority's commitment to restoring balance to affected ecosystems in a swift response to mitigate the impacts resulting from oil pollution. — ONA
