803 candidates announced for municipal council elections

Muscat: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced on Sunday the preliminary lists of candidates for the fourth-term municipal council elections, with 803 candidates, including 16 women, listed through the ‘Intikhab’ app and the elections website.

The ministry said objections to the names included in the preliminary candidate lists may be submitted through the ‘Intikhab’ app or the elections website (elections.om) within five days of the announcement.

It pointed out that objections must state the reasons and be accompanied by supporting documents.

Applications will be considered and decided upon within 10 days from the day following the end of the submission period.
