Qatar beat Bahrain 2-0 in Gulf Cup Opener

Qatar began their Gulf Cup 27 campaign with a 2-0 victory over defending champions Bahrain on Thursday in Jeddah.
Khoukhi Boualem opened the scoring in the 61st minute, before Hassan al Haydos converted a penalty in the 99th minute to seal the win.
Qatar played with 10 men from the 70th minute after Ahmed Fathi was sent off, while Bahrain also had Abbas al Asfour dismissed in stoppage time.
