Duqm: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, paid a visit to the Special Economic Zone at Duqm on Wednesday.

During the visit, His Majesty reviewed the economic, investment and developmental projects in the zone, the investment expansion it has witnessed in recent years, and the efforts exerted to transform it into an integrated economic zone.

His Majesty the Sultan listened to a briefing on the zone and the Port of Duqm, the achievements realised in the past period, and the future plans to provide an attractive investment environment and attract further local and foreign investments.

His Majesty the Sultan issued his gracious directives to continue work on harnessing the zone's assets and potential, in a manner that contributes to entrenching its standing as a promising economic and logistics hub and maximising the benefit of its strategic location.

Upon His Majesty's arrival at the Port of Duqm, he was received by Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, a number of officials at the port and the companies operating in the zone.

At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty inscribed a message on the occasion, in which he expressed his profound delight at visiting the Special Economic Zone at Duqm and at the achievements he reviewed, which inspire pride. His Majesty commended the integration of national efforts contributing to the zone's construction and development. He affirmed that this promising zone, open to the seas of the world, constitutes an authentic tributary to the national economy, opens vast horizons for the future, and represents one of the pillars of Oman Vision 2040.
