Corrective measures taken in implementation of Jabal Maqta'a road project: MTCIT

The Ministr of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has responded to media discussions regarding the concrete paving works on the 'Jabal Maqta'a' road in the Wilayat of Dima W'attayeen in the  North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The Ministry said the project is being implemented according to the scope of work and approved technical specifications, under its direct technical supervision and in coordination with the competent authorities in the governorate. 
All road construction works are subject to precise technical tests and measurements to ensure that the works conform to the approved contractual specifications before final acceptance.

Several meetings and field visits were held with the participation of specialists, the contractor, and representatives of the local community, in coordination with the office of the Governor of North Al Sharqiyah and the office of the Wali of the Wilayat. 
'Suggestions were heard and taken into consideration. Accordingly, the contractor was instructed to implement the required corrective works and update the implementation plan, work mechanisms, equipment, and materials used to suit the nature of the site and quality requirements,' the ministry said.

The the project faced a number of field and logistical challenges related to the ruggedness of the mountainous region, which were addressed by modifying the work plan, repairing sections damaged during construction due to the use of the route and the lack of an alternative, and enhancing the protection of sites vulnerable to flash floods and water runoff.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of verifying the accuracy of information.
