Holy Quran competition commences in Al Amerat

AL AMERAT: The preliminary qualifiers of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition, in its thirty-fourth edition, commenced in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Muscat Governorate.
The competition is organised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of the Royal Court and will run for four days at the Waqf Quranic School in Al Amerat.
Yousuf bin Mohammed al Balushi, Vice-Chairman of the competition's Preliminary and Final Qualifying Committees, stated that the competition aims to encourage young men and women to memorise the Holy Quran, master its recitation, intonation, and accurate and sound reading. It also seeks to cultivate distinguished and proficient reciters of the Holy Quran, in addition to instilling spiritual values, developing Quranic skills, fostering honourable competition, and enhancing the Sultanate of Oman's presence in international Quranic competitions. - ONA
