Dhofar welcomes 'Sarb' season with scenic landscapes

Salalah: Dhofar Governorate is welcoming the 'Sarb' season, a distinctive period that follows the Khareef season and brings renewed natural landscapes, milder weather and continued tourism activity.

The season usually begins towards the end of September and continues until around mid-December, although its timing and intensity vary across different parts of the governorate.

As the influence of the monsoon winds gradually declines, mist begins to recede and skies become clearer, while sunshine hours increase and humidity levels fall compared with the Khareef months.

The end of Khareef, however, does not mean the disappearance of its effects. Rainwater and moisture remain in the soil, allowing vegetation to continue growing for some time and maintaining the green landscapes that characterise parts of Dhofar.

The transition also marks a different phase for tourism in the governorate, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Dhofar under clearer skies and changing weather conditions beyond the peak Khareef period.

Meanwhilw, the 'Sarb' period extends from September to October, before the winter season begins in October and continues through April.
