Oman prioritizes air travel for Hajj pilgrims, signs key contracts

The number of Hajj pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman eligible to travel by road has been reduced from 5,122 to 3,034, according to the Ministry of Awaqf and Religious Affairs.
The decision was taken keeping into account the healthy and safety concerns of the pilgrims.
The Ministry has prioritised air travel and signed strategic contracts to develop air transport services for the pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman
During the last Hajj season, the Ministry was able to help Omani citizens to make a financial saving of around RO 440,000 for pilgrims travelling by air.
Activation of Taif Airport as an alternative destination contributed to reducing the time of the land journey inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Additional service packages offered by Hajj companies include facilitations in baggage procedures, weight, and ground services.
