Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has announced the opening of Hajj registration for citizens and residents of the Sultanate of Oman wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage for the 1448 AH season. Registration will be conducted via the electronic system (www.hajj.om) from September 28 to October 11.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that Hajj companies are prohibited from interfering in the registration process for prospective pilgrims; to ensure transparency and allow eligible individuals the freedom to select their preferred Hajj company.
The Ministry noted that eligible individuals are required to select a Hajj company through the system, acknowledging the associated financial implications. Such a selection constitutes formal consent to contract with the chosen company. Eligible individuals must pay the specified amount electronically via the system. The contract concluded through the electronic system is legally binding on both parties before the competent authorities, and the Ministry reserves the right to cancel the application if the eligible individual fails to make the required payment within the designated time frames.
The Ministry said that no applications submitted prior to this announcement, after the specified deadline, or without the required attachments will be considered valid.
The Ministry outlined the schedule for notifying eligible individuals and selecting Hajj companies - the process for 'first-priority' pilgrims will take place from October 21 to November 11, while the selection process for 'second-priority' pilgrims is scheduled for November 16 to 22.
It was reported that the selection of Hajj companies for pilgrims in the third eligibility category will take place from November 24 to 27; the Hajj Conference and Exhibition is scheduled for October 22–24; the deadline for cancellation requests is February 27; and the deadline for air travel is May 12.
