His Majesty concludes His visit to Botswana

 

Gaborone: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik departed Gaborone, concluding his visit to the Republic of Botswana, en route to the Republic of Angola on a two-day state visit.

His Majesty was seen off by President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana. Prior to departure, the Royal Anthem of Oman and Botswana National Anthem were played. Thereafter, His Majesty inspected the Guard of Honour, while the artillery fired a twenty-one gun salute in honour of His Majesty the Sultan.

Then, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the President of Botswana, viewed the farewell tableau of traditional Botswanan arts.

Thereafter, the President of Botswana shook hands with the Omani official delegation, while His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with the Botswanan farewell party.

Prior to departure, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks to the President of Botswana. In the cable, His Majesty expressed his profound thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality. His Majesty commended the constructive outcomes the visit yielded, which reinforced the march of bilateral relations and propelled the partnership and cooperation between the two countries towards broader horizons.
