Preliminary rounds of Holy Quran competition commence

IBRA: The preliminary qualifying rounds of the 34th Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition commenced on Tuesday in the Wilayat of Ibra, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, as part of its 13th station, with the participation of 145 male and female contestants across the competition's various levels. The rounds will continue for three days.
The Preliminary Qualifying Committee at the Ibra Centre listened to the recitations of participants across the competition's seven levels. These comprise the first level, covering memorisation of the entire Holy Quran; the second level, covering memorisation of 24 consecutive parts (juz'); the third level, covering memorisation of 18 consecutive parts; and the fourth level, covering memorisation of 12 consecutive parts, for which contestants must be born in 2001 or later.
The competition also includes the fifth level, covering memorisation of 6 consecutive parts, for which contestants must be born in 2012 or later; the sixth level, covering memorisation of 4 consecutive parts, for which contestants must be born in 2016 or later; and the seventh level, covering memorisation of 2 consecutive parts, for which contestants must be born in 2019 or later. — ONA
