Winners of Al Batinah South student literary contest feted

AL RUSTAQ: The Al Batinah South branch of the Omani Society for Writers and Literati, in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Education in the governorate, held a ceremony to honour students who won the Literary Creativity Competition for schools in Al Batinah South.
The competition was organised to promote literary and cultural activities among school students, nurture emerging talents and encourage creativity in various forms of literary expression.
The ceremony marked the culmination of joint efforts by the Omani Society for Writers and Literati and the Directorate-General of Education to highlight student creativity in fields including short stories, classical poetry, literary essays and poetry recitation. The initiative also sought to enhance students’ language skills and identify promising talents in writing and literary expression.
The event featured a number of segments, including a visual presentation documenting the various stages of the competition, from the evaluation process to the participating literary works. An artistic and literary operetta was also presented, reflecting the students’ passion for language, literature and creativity.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Eng Masoud bin Said al Hashmi, Governor of Al Batinah South, honoured the students who secured first place in the various competition categories. Members of the judging committee and institutions that contributed to the success of the initiative were also honoured. - ONA
