Minor earthquake recorded northeast of Salalah

MUSCAT: A minor earthquake measuring 2.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Arabian Sea northeast of Salalah on Wednesday, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre at Sultan Qaboos University.
The earthquake was detected at 11:53 am on September 9, 2026, at a depth of 7 km.
The epicentre was located in the Arabian Sea, around 135 km northeast of Salalah.
The Earthquake Monitoring Centre classified the event as a light tremor.
