Oman's H1 Trade Surplus: RO 4.7 Billion

Oman’s trade balance recorded a surplus of about RO 4.7 billion by the end of June 2026, compared with a surplus of about RO 3.1 billion during the same period of 2025, marking an increase of about 51 per cent.
Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the total value of Oman’s merchandise exports rose by 15.3 per cent, reaching about RO 13.2 billion by the end of June 2026, compared with about RO 11.5 billion during the same period of 2025.
This increase is attributed to a 16.5 per cent growth in the value of oil and gas exports, which reached about RO 8.6 billion, compared with about RO 7.4 billion by the end of June 2025.
The value of re-exports rose by 20 per cent to reach RO 978 million, compared with RO 815 million during the same period last year, while non-oil exports recorded growth of 11.4 per cent to reach about RO 3.6 billion, compared with about RO 3.3 billion during the same period last year.
The value of merchandise imports also rose by 2.1 per cent, reaching about RO 8.6 billion by the end of June 2026, compared with about RO 8.4 billion by the end of June 2025.
In terms of trading partners, the United Arab Emirates topped the list of leading destinations for Omani non-oil exports with a value of RO 1.134 billion, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with RO 357 million and then the Republic of India with RO 333 million.
With regard to re-exports, the Islamic Republic of Iran topped the list of leading destinations for re-exports by the end of June 2026, with a value of RO 254 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates in second place with RO 221 million, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came in third place with RO 188 million.
On the side of merchandise imports, the United Arab Emirates topped the list of leading countries exporting to Oman by the end of June 2026, with a value of RO 2.423 billion, followed by the People’s Republic of China with RO 1.194 billion and then the Republic of Türkiye with RO 676 million. — ONA
