Oman evacuates 16 crew members from stricken Saudi oil tanker

 

MUSCAT: Oman has completed support and rescue operations for the Saudi-flagged oil tanker SIDR following an incident off Musandam Governorate.

A Royal Navy of Oman vessel provided logistical assistance to the tanker’s 25-member crew and evacuated 16 crew members, ensuring they received the necessary medical care.

The tanker had been struck by a projectile approximately two nautical miles northwest of Musandam. Two crew members died in the incident, according to Oman’s Maritime Security Centre.
