OSWA launches 47 publications for 2026

MUSCAT: The Omani Society for Writers and Authors (OSWA) celebrated the launch of its literary and cultural publications for 2026 at its headquarters in Al Seeb.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, and attended by officials, writers, authors and intellectuals from across Oman.
Said bin Mohammed al Saqlawi, Chairman of OSWA’s Board of Directors, said the society remains committed to supporting Omani writers and authors by publishing their literary and cultural works annually. The initiative seeks to encourage creativity and provide writers with opportunities to reach readers inside and outside Oman through publishing houses and public libraries.
Abdulaziz bin Mubarak al Rahbi, supervisor of the society’s 2026 publications and an official at Musandam Publishing, Printing and Distribution House, said 47 publications had been printed through the house this year.
The publications cover a wide range of literary and cultural fields, including classical and Nabati poetry, colloquial poetry, short stories, novels, children’s literature, translations, research and studies.
Al Rahbi said the society has published more than 450 books and titles by Omani writers and intellectuals since its establishment. The publications are promoted to readers through the society’s participation in the annual Muscat International Book Fair.
He added that the society looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Omani writers and intellectuals in the coming years and publishing more of their works. — ONA
