Muscat Directorate crowned School Beach Games champions

MUSCAT: The Muscat Education Directorate were crowned champions of the fifth School Beach Games after clinching titles in beach volleyball and beach handball at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah on Thursday.
The Muscat team defeated the Al Dakhiliyah Education Directorate 2-0 in the final to win the beach volleyball honours, while they prevailed over the same opponents in two sets to claim the beach handball crown.
The championship concluded amid an atmosphere of excitement and strong competition, with education directorates from across Oman battling for honours in beach volleyball and beach handball.

The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Ali al Busaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and was attended by Dr Intisar bint Abdullah Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Support Programmes. A number of ministry advisers, directors-general, senior officials and representatives of supporting partners were also present.
Muscat produced a strong campaign in the beach volleyball competition and secured the title after overcoming Al Dakhiliyah in the decisive final. The victory capped an impressive run for the Muscat side, which maintained its composure during the crucial stages of the competition to finish at the top of the standings.

Al Batinah South secured third place in beach volleyball after defeating Al Dakhiliyah 2-1 in the third-place playoff.
The competition featured a high level of enthusiasm and competitive spirit, with participating teams demonstrating the benefits of preparation and regular training. The matches also provided young athletes with valuable opportunities to test their skills in a competitive environment while representing their respective education directorates.
IMPORTANT PLATFORM
In beach handball, Al Batinah South also secured third place after beating Dhofar 2-1 in a closely contested encounter. Both teams fought hard throughout the match, with Al Batinah South eventually claiming the final podium position.

The fifth School Beach Games provided an important platform for students to showcase their sporting abilities while promoting teamwork, discipline and healthy competition. The event also contributed to the wider development of school sport in Oman by bringing together young athletes from different governorates.
Following the conclusion of the final matches, the closing and awards ceremony was held to recognise the companies and organisations that supported the championship, as well as the referees and officials who contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
The education directorates finishing in the top three positions in both beach volleyball and beach handball were also honoured during the ceremony, bringing the fifth edition of the School Beach Games to a successful conclusion.
