School Beach Games set for grand finale in Dhofar

MUSCAT: The fifth edition of the School Beach Games Championship will conclude on Thursday at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Cultural and Sports Complex in Dhofar, bringing together the leading school teams competing in beach volleyball and beach handball.
The closing ceremony will be held under the auspices of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud bin Ali al Busaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers. The ceremony will also be attended by Dr Intisar bint Abdullah Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Support Programmes, along with a number of advisers and director-generals from the Ministries of Education and Culture, Sports and Youth.
Organised by the Oman School Sports Association, the championship has provided a competitive platform for school teams from various governorates, with the final day bringing the two sports competitions to their decisive stages.
In beach handball, the final will feature Al Dakhiliyah Education against Muscat Education after both teams secured convincing victories in their respective semifinals. Al Dakhiliyah advanced to the title match after defeating Dhofar Education 2-0, while Muscat Education secured its place in the final with a 2-0 victory over Al Batinah South Education.
Before the championship match, Dhofar Education will face Al Batinah South Education in the third-place play-off, with both teams aiming to finish their campaign on the podium.

AL BATINAH NORTH VS MUSCAT
The beach volleyball final will see Al Batinah North Education take on Muscat Education. Al Batinah North booked its place in the final after overcoming Al Dakhiliyah Education 2-1 in a closely contested semifinal. Muscat Education, meanwhile, earned a 2-0 victory over Al Batinah South Education to complete the final line-up.
Al Batinah South Education and Al Dakhiliyah Education will meet in the third-place play-off ahead of the championship final.
Following the conclusion of the final matches, the official closing ceremony will feature the recognition of the championship’s supporting companies and referees, before the top three teams in both beach volleyball and beach handball are presented with their medals and trophies.
The final day is expected to provide a fitting conclusion to the fifth edition of the School Beach Games Championship, with the participating teams seeking to cap their campaigns with strong performances and podium finishes at the Dhofar venue.
