The Directorate General of Oman Customs has been playing a vital role in combating the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances across multiple fronts.
Its primary operations involve analyzing data on shipments, passengers, and transport routes to flag high-risk cases, as well as using advanced technology to inspect goods, containers, luggage, and postal parcels. To foil smuggling attempts at land, sea, air, and postal ports of entry, Oman Customs actively monitors emerging concealment techniques and refines its detection procedures accordingly.
By analyzing seizure data, shipping routes, and smuggling trends, the Directorate works to uncover patterns and trace links between different operations. It coordinates closely with domestic security and judicial authorities, foreign customs administrations, and international organizations to tackle cross-border networks.
