Several service, development projects to come up in Al Rustaq

 

A number of service and development projects are under implementation in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq with the aim of improving infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency of roads and public facilities, improving the urban landscape, and developing tourist sites, said Dr Yahya bin Sulaiman al Nadabi, Wali of Al Rustaq.

Among the most prominent of these is the project to design and pave 40 kilometres of internal roads in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq of which approximately 33 kilometres have been completed, with an overall completion rate of 80 per cent. Also underway is a project to construct box culverts in several locations, with work completed at the Samiyah, Al Falaj Al Hadith and Al Hawqain sites. The overall completion rate on the project currently stands at 90 per cent.

The City Walk project is another prominent urban development project in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq, reflecting the government’s commitment to developing public facilities, enhancing quality of life, and creating a destination that combines social, recreational, service and economic activities. The project has reached a completion rate of 50 per cent. As part of efforts to improve the entrances and urban landscape in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq, work continues on the Aqabat Al Rustaq Gate Development Project with 60 per cent completion.

In the roads sector, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is continuing work on the rehabilitation of the existing road from Al Hazm village to Al Washil village, a distance of approximately 11 kilometres.

Several other projects have been completed in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq including the development of the Al Hazm entrance, repairs to weather-related damage, maintenance of the Al Rustaq Vegetable and Fruit Market, and the installation of internal lighting poles in Al Rustaq Public Park, in addition to installing lighting poles in several other locations across the wilayat.

The Wilayat of Al Rustaq has 50 government schools serving students at various educational levels carefully distributed across the wilayat. The school distribution system provides educational services near population centers, and reflects the size of the urban and geographical expansion of the wilayat, said the Wali of Al Rustaq.

At the level of health services, the Wilayat of Al Rustaq has 10 health institutions distributed across the Wilayat, which enhances the provision of health services to the population and brings them closer to population centres. The health system includes Al Rustaq Hospital, Wadi Al Haymali Hospital, Wadi Bani Ghafir Hospital, and Al Rustaq Health Complex, in addition to six health centers: Al Rustaq Health Center, Al Hawqain Health Center, Al Razi Health Center, Wadi Al Sahtan Health Center, Balad Seet Health Center, and Wadi Bani Awf Health Center, he said.
