ENT conference concludes in Salalah

SALALAH: The 25th Omani Conference on Otolaryngology (ENT), Head and Neck Audiology Conference, organised by the Oman Otolaryngology Society, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, concluded in Salalah, on Saturday.
The conference came up with a number of recommendations including enhancing the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosis and treatment, supporting modern and biological therapies based on the latest scientific evidence and developing continuous training and professional development programmes for healthcare personnel.
The two-day conference also called for enhancing scientific research and local, regional, and international cooperation, standardising and developing treatment protocols and pathways to raise the quality of healthcare and enhancing patient safety.
The conference brought together 250 medical and paramedical professionals from various public and private healthcare institutions. Around 70 experts and consultant physicians from across the Sultanate of Oman, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, other Arab nations, and several countries worldwide, delivered lectures at the conference.
The conference addressed a number of topics, including ear, nose, and throat (ENT) diseases, airway disorders, head and neck conditions, sleep apnea, rhinoplasty, hearing, and balance, through scientific sessions, seminars and workshops. — ONA
