UTAS Salalah trains staff in AI for administrative work

SALALAH: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), represented by the Qualification and Training Section of its Human Resources Department, organised a three-day training programme on 'Employing Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Administrative Work' at its Salalah branch from August 24 to 26.
The programme aimed to familiarise participants with artificial intelligence concepts and their applications in administrative work, while highlighting its role in supporting institutional digital transformation and improving organisational performance in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The 15-hour programme covered three key areas: AI fundamentals and institutional digital transformation; AI applications in administrative processes and decision-making; and the use of AI in human resources management and institutional productivity.
Participants explored AI tools for administrative work, including process automation, report preparation, data analysis, performance indicators and smart dashboards. Practical workshops and case studies were also included.
The programme also examined AI applications in human resources, including smart recruitment and CV screening, performance management, productivity measurement, meeting management and automated preparation of minutes.
Sessions also addressed AI ethics, information security and the development of implementation plans for introducing AI within institutions.
The programme targeted managers, department heads and employees from various university departments, including human resources, planning and development, information technology and digital transformation.
The initiative forms part of UTAS efforts to develop staff capabilities, keep pace with digital transformation and promote the use of modern technologies to enhance productivity and institutional performance.
