Oman Across Ages Museum receives 1 million visitors

MANAH: The Oman Across Ages Museum on Saturday has received 1 million visitors since its opening, a milestone that reflects its status as a cultural, educational and tourist destination as well as the interactive experience it offers for learning about the Sultanate of Oman’s history, civilisation and journey through time.
Since its opening, the museum has witnessed a large influx of visitors from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad with Omanis comprising 81 per cent and international visitors 19 per cent.
The museum organised a special event to celebrate its millionth visitor, during which the visitor was honoured and given a special tour of the museum’s halls to learn about the most prominent historical sites, interactive experiences, and modern technologies used in displaying the museum’s content.
Eng Al Yaqdhan bin Abdullah al Harthi, Director-General of the Oman Across Ages Museum, said that celebrating the one millionth visitor is an honour for all visitors who have come to the museum to discover the Sultanate of Oman’s history and cultural heritage. He noted that this achievement is the fruit of continuous efforts undertaken by the museum since its opening and an incentive to further develop the visitor experience.
He added that reaching one million visitors represents a significant milestone in the museum’s journey and reflects the high level of interest and trust it has gained as a cultural, educational, and tourist destination.
This achievement underscores the prominent position the museum has established since its opening on March 13, 2023, under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and its growing presence in showcasing the Sultanate of Oman’s history and cultural heritage using modern methods. — ONA
