Al Musannah to open endowment building

The Zakat Committee in the Wilayat of Al Musannah is preparing to inaugurate the second charitable endowment building in the wilayat, costing more than RO 250,000. The project represents a new step in the committee’s efforts to establish sustainable financial resources that strengthen its ability to continue its social mission, support eligible families, and expand the scope of its services and initiatives throughout the year.
The project comes as an extension of the Zakat Committee’s efforts to develop and invest endowment resources in a manner that achieves financial sustainability for charitable work, ensures the continuity of giving, and enables support to reach beneficiaries through organised and well-planned mechanisms.
Ibrahim bin Abdullah al Nofli, Chairman of the Zakat Committee in the Wilayat of Al Musannah, said the project represents a qualitative addition to the charitable endowment projects in Al Musannah and reflects the fruits of community partnership and solidarity among members of society and institutions supporting charitable work.
Al Nofli explained that the second endowment building consists of four floors and includes a commercial showroom and a number of residential apartments. It was constructed on a plot of approximately 930 square metres, with a total built-up area of approximately 2,040 square metres.
He added that the importance of the project goes beyond being an investment property, as it is a sustainable charitable endowment designed to provide the committee with a stable source of income. Its revenues will contribute to financing the committee’s charitable activities, programmes, and projects, while strengthening its ability to respond to the needs of eligible families in the wilayat.
He further noted that the building’s revenues will finance the committee’s objectives, most notably identifying eligible families and establishing an integrated database of beneficiaries, assessing their circumstances, providing financial assistance and charitable donations throughout the year.
Al Nofli emphasised that charitable endowment projects represent a long-term investment in humanitarian and community work, as they provide continuous resources that can be built upon and further developed in the future. He stated that the committee remains committed to developing the charitable work system in the wilayat and making effective use of endowment resources to achieve the greatest possible impact for eligible families and the wider community.
The inauguration reflects the continuing legacy of community giving in the wilayat and highlights the importance of partnership between the committee, members of the community, institutions, and supporting entities in establishing endowment projects that promote sustainability in charitable work. It also demonstrates how donations and contributions can be transformed into assets and projects whose impact continues year after year.
Through this project, the Zakat Committee in the Wilayat of Al Musannah looks forward to further developing its endowment resources, enabling it to reach more eligible families. This, in turn, reflects the objectives of Zakat and charitable endowments in serving society and strengthening the values of solidarity, compassion, and social cohesion among its members.
