Oman marks Prophet’s birthday

TAQAH: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the year 1448 AH the Wilayat of Taqah, Dhofar Governorate, on Monday.

The event was attended by a crowd of citizens and residents of Dhofar Governorate, who reflected on the noble life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and its rich human values, recalling its enduring place in the hearts of Muslims.

The event was held at the Mosque of Shaikh Mustahil bin Ahmed al Mashani in the Wilayat of Taqah under the auspices of Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Vice-President of the State Council in the presence of several dignitaries and a large crowd of citizens and residents.

The celebration included a variety of religious and cultural segments, beginning with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a visual presentation highlighting aspects of the life and wisdom of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), including its lessons, wisdom and inspiring examples. Besides, poems and religious songs expressing love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his esteemed position in the hearts of Muslims, were read out.

The commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) embodies the importance of his life as a source of values and principles that guide Muslims. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the actions and the noble character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and highlights his mercy, tolerance, honesty, trustworthiness, and kindness towards others.
