MUSCAT: Qurayat and Al Amerat advanced to the Group One final of the 2026 Oman Junior Hockey League following convincing semifinal victories at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat on Sunday.
Qurayat maintained their perfect record with a 4-0 victory over Al Bashayer, while Al Amerat defeated Seeb 4-1 in the second semifinal. The two sides will meet in the group final at the same venue at 8 pm on Wednesday.
The final will be a repeat of their preliminary-round encounter, which Qurayat won 3-1. However, Al Amerat have since responded strongly by securing three consecutive victories and will be looking to reverse that result when the teams meet again.

Qurayat made a fast start against Al Bashayer and opened the scoring through Said al Fazari in the 10th minute. Mouther al Rujaibi doubled the advantage from a penalty corner two minutes later, giving Qurayat a 2-0 lead at the end of the opening quarter.
Qurayat maintained their attacking momentum in the second quarter, with Al Rujaibi adding his second goal of the match from open play in the 17th minute. The goal sent Qurayat into half-time with a comfortable 3-0 advantage.
Al Bashayer attempted to reorganise and reduce the deficit, but Qurayat remained disciplined in defence while continuing to create opportunities. Al Fazari completed his brace from a penalty corner in the 41st minute, extending the lead to 4-0 during the third quarter.

Neither side scored in the final quarter as Qurayat controlled the closing stages and preserved another clean sheet. The victory was their fourth in succession, taking their tournament tally to 24 goals scored and only two conceded.
In the second semifinal, Al Amerat overcame Seeb 4-1 after a goalless opening quarter. Al Abbas Sulaiman broke the deadlock with a field goal in the 20th minute before Khazrag Sbit struck in the 30th minute to give Al Amerat a 2-0 half-time lead.
Al Amerat continued to apply pressure after the interval, and Al Abbas scored his second goal from a penalty corner in the 39th minute, making it 3-0 at the end of the third quarter.

Seeb showed greater attacking urgency in the final quarter and pulled one back through Mohammed Abdullah, who converted a penalty corner in the 48th minute. Their hopes of a late comeback were ended in the 55th minute when Sbit scored his second field goal to seal a 4-1 victory for Al Amerat.
Wednesday’s final is expected to provide a closely contested conclusion to Group One, with unbeaten Qurayat aiming to maintain their impressive run and Al Amerat seeking a fourth straight victory and revenge for their earlier defeat.
