Dhofar Municipality announces wage support initiative

Muscat: Dhofar Municipality, in coordination with the Directorate General of Labour in Dhofar Governorate, announced a wage support initiative for temporary establishments, private institutions and businesses during the seasonal periods of Dhofar (khareef, winter and sirb).

The initiative aims to support eligible establishments that provide temporary employment opportunities for Omanis during the seasonal periods. The targeted categories include:

1. Omani establishments holding municipal licences that appoint Omani employees on a temporary basis.
2. Omani establishments awarded contracts and government tenders related to seasonal activities, which appoint Omani employees during the season.
3. Omani employers organising festivals and seasonal events who undertake temporary employment during tourism seasons.
4. Omani owners of tourist hotels or residential buildings who temporarily employ Omanis in reception positions.
5. Omani organisers of seasonal activities of a voluntary nature who appoint Omanis on a temporary basis.
