UAE halts all trade, financial dealings with Iran

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Tuesday that it had suspended all trade and financial dealings with Iran.
'In light of regional escalations... all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran have been halted until further notice,' UAE foreign ministry communications director Afra al Hameli said.
UAE denies all allegations about the status of its economic relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and reaffirms its firm commitment to dialogue, cooperation and regional integration as essential means to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region, said Afra Al Hameli, Director of the Strategic Communications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In light of the regional escalation that has undermined regional and international peace and security, all activities, trade exchanges and financial transactions with Iran have been suspended until further notice.
She stressed that the UAE remains firmly committed to maintaining the integrity of the international financial system, in line with international law and the highest international standards.
