Seeb, Al Nasr, Saham and Al Khabourah book semifinals

MUSCAT: Seeb, Al Nasr, Saham and Al Khabourah secured their places in the semifinals of the inaugural Jindal Youth League as the group stage concluded with the seventh round.
Seeb completed an outstanding Group One campaign with a perfect record after defeating Sur 4-0. The result gave Seeb their sixth victory in six matches and took them to 18 points, five clear at the top of the standings.
The group winners produced an impressive record during the preliminary stage, scoring 31 goals and conceding only two for a goal difference of plus 29.
Al Nasr claimed the second qualification spot after recording a convincing 5-1 victory over Samayil. They finished level with Sur on 13 points but secured second place with a superior goal difference. Al Nasr scored 28 goals and conceded 13, while Sur ended the group stage with 14 goals scored and 11 conceded.
Oman Club finished fourth with nine points, followed by Samayil on four. Bahla and Dhofar occupied the bottom two positions.
Elsewhere in Group One, Bahla and Dhofar played out a 3-3 draw, with the result giving Dhofar their first point of the campaign.
SAHAM FINISH ON TOP
In Group Two, Saham confirmed top spot with a commanding 4-0 victory over Ibri, taking their tally to 15 points from six matches. Saham finished the group stage with five victories and one defeat, scoring 19 goals and conceding six.
Al Khabourah secured the second semifinal berth after edging Al Shabab 2-1 in a decisive encounter. The victory lifted Al Khabourah to 11 points, two ahead of third-placed Al Shabab, who finished with nine.
Sohar concluded their campaign in fourth place with eight points after defeating Al Nahda 4-1, while Al Rustaq also finished with eight points. Ibri ended on seven points, with Al Nahda completing the group stage without a point.
The conclusion of the preliminary stage leaves four clubs in contention for the inaugural title, with Seeb and Al Nasr representing Group One and Saham and Al Khabourah progressing from Group Two.
The competition will now move into the knockout semifinals, where the four qualifiers will battle for two places in the final and the opportunity to become the first champions of the Jindal Youth League.
