SALALAH DAZZLES

When much of the region is sweltering under the summer sun, Salalah is putting on a spectacle of its own. With mist-shrouded mountains, lush green landscapes, cool drizzle and gentle rain, Khareef Dhofar Season 2026 is drawing visitors from across the region and beyond, offering a summer experience unlike almost anywhere else.
For Iraqi content creator Ashhad al Ajil, the magic was compelling enough to bring him back for a second consecutive year. Driving his own car to Dhofar, he has been documenting his journey to Salalah and sharing its landscapes, attractions and atmosphere with his followers.
He highlighted the striking contrast between Iraq’s summer temperatures, which can approach 50°C, and Salalah’s cool, misty weather. The sight of rain, fog and greenery in the middle of summer has generated strong engagement with his videos, with viewers inspired to make the journey themselves. He noted that another vehicle from Mosul had arrived in Oman after its occupants watched his content.
Qatari social media influencer Abdul Latif bin Ahmed Al Hajin al Nuaimi also captured Salalah through his lens, showcasing its mountains, fog, natural landscapes and bustling markets. His videos offer his audience a visual journey through the destination during the Khareef season.
For Yemeni visitor Mohammed al Hasani, however, the experience began before he even reached Salalah. He recalled being greeted by the first Omani security officer he encountered with a smile and respect, saying the warm welcome immediately shaped his affection for the country. He described the people he met as welcoming, generous and courteous.
Tour guide Hisham al Kharousi recalled a particularly memorable encounter while accompanying an Australian family travelling around Oman. As they headed towards the airport, one of the children remarked, “I have not seen anyone sad in Oman.” Al Kharousi said many visitors tell him they chose Oman following recommendations from friends who had experienced the hospitality of its people. One tourist even joked that in Oman, there was no need to buy coffee; simply walk through a market.
Meanwhile, Mazen al Qasmi, an automotive technology engineer, praised initiatives bringing prominent content creators to experience Khareef Dhofar, especially Bilal al Haddad, a prominent Lebanese sports content creator and football commentator whose coverage of Khareef Dhofar Season gained over millions of views, describing them as an effective way of showcasing Salalah’s cool summer climate and captivating scenery to audiences worldwide.
