Seeb extend perfect run, Al Shabab upset Saham

MUSCAT: Seeb maintained their perfect record in the Jindal Youth League with a 5-1 victory over Bahla, while Al Shabab handed Group Two leaders Saham their first defeat as the fifth round produced important changes in the race for the semifinal places.
In Group One, Seeb extended their winning run to four matches after another convincing performance against Bahla. The leaders have collected a maximum 12 points, scoring 23 goals and conceding only two, giving them a three-point advantage at the top.
Al Nasr returned to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Oman Club in one of the round’s key encounters. The result moved Al Nasr to 10 points from five matches and into second place.
Sur also reached 10 points after defeating Samayil 3-1. Sur, however, have played only four matches and remain unbeaten with three victories and a draw, sitting third behind Al Nasr on goal difference.
Oman Club dropped to fourth with nine points after suffering their second defeat, while Samayil remain on three points. Bahla and Dhofar are still searching for their first points.

Group Two witnessed a major result as Al Shabab ended Saham’s perfect start with a 2-1 victory. Saham remain top with nine points, but their advantage has been reduced significantly as the battle for the two semifinal places intensifies.
Al Shabab moved into second place with eight points and remain unbeaten after four matches, recording two victories and two draws.
Al Khabourah continued their recovery with a 3-0 victory over Al Nahda. Their second successive win lifted them to seven points and third place, just one point behind Al Shabab and two behind Saham.
Al Rustaq also moved on to seven points after edging Sohar 1-0, registering their second consecutive victory following a difficult start to the competition.
Ibri, who sat out the fifth round, remain on six points, while Sohar have five points after five matches.
Al Nahda remain at the bottom without a point after four outings.
With the group stage entering its decisive phase, the race for the top two positions remains particularly tight. Seeb have established themselves as the team to beat in Group One, while only two points separate the top three in Group Two, setting up a crucial closing stretch in the battle for semifinal qualification.
