'Rural Dhofar 2026' exhibition kicks off today

SALALAH: The activities of the 'Rural Dhofar 2026' exhibition will kick off on Monday at Ittin Square in Dhofar Governorate.
Organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the governorate, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the event is held as part of the Khareef Dhofar Season activities, aiming to support rural women, empower them economically, and enhance the presence of Omani products in the markets.
Running until August 15, the exhibition serves as a marketing platform bringing together more than 60 participants among female entrepreneurs and productive families from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. They will showcase various agricultural, fisheries, and food products, alongside honey and date products, and cosmetics made from natural materials, reflecting the quality and diversity of Omani rural products.
The exhibition aims to enhance direct marketing opportunities for rural products, increase the income of productive families, and support small and medium enterprises, alongside highlighting the role of rural women as an active partner in achieving food security and sustainable economic development. - ONA
