Dhofar Museum’s ‘Oman Heritage’ expo concludes

SALALAH: The ‘Oman Heritage’ exhibition, organised by the Dhofar Museum in cooperation with the Artaqaa art team, concluded as part of the museum programme accompanying the Khareef Dhofar Season 2026.
The exhibition showcased the connection between fine art and Oman’s cultural heritage through an innovative display that integrated contemporary artworks with the museum’s collections and sections.
Harith al Ghassani, a member of the Dhofar Museum’s Board of Directors, said the exhibition reflected the museum’s efforts to promote awareness of national identity and strengthen links between fine art and historical artefacts.
He said the exhibition provided a visual experience highlighting Oman’s cultural and civilisational heritage in a contemporary manner, while also offering visual artists an opportunity to showcase their works and have them acquired.

The exhibition also sought to create a space where artistic creativity meets historical content, helping strengthen the connection between members of society, particularly young people, with Oman’s history and civilisation.
Al Ghassani described the exhibition as a distinctive cultural event, particularly for its integrated display approach. The artworks were placed across different sections of the museum according to their relevance to the collections on display, giving visitors an integrated artistic and cultural experience.
The exhibition formed part of the Dhofar Museum’s efforts to use visual arts to introduce Oman’s cultural heritage, strengthen the link between museum activities and artistic creativity and enrich the cultural scene during the Khareef Dhofar Season 2026. - ONA
