AL JABAL AL AKHDHAR: The fourth edition of the Rummana season opened at Janain Farm in Saih Qatna village in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, offering visitors an agricultural tourism experience centred on fruit picking and local farm products.
The season will continue until September, allowing visitors to experience farm life and pick fresh figs and pomegranates directly from the trees during the harvest season.
Organised by Tibi Company and Janain Agricultural Tourism Development Company in partnership with Omran Group, the event aims to promote sustainable agricultural tourism, empower rural communities and make better use of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar’s agricultural assets.
The venue features a nursery showcasing local plant and tree species, an Omani corner highlighting traditional heritage and products, a café and a platform displaying fresh local products made from produce grown in the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar.
Amjad bint Khalid al Maawali, CEO of Tibi Company, said the fourth edition builds on the company’s vision of creating authentic and enriching agricultural tourism experiences.
She noted that new experiences are introduced each season to strengthen visitors’ connection with the land and its agricultural cycles, including fruit picking, discovering local products and experiencing Omani heritage.
The latest edition builds on the success of previous Rummana seasons, with the organisers offering visitors a range of activities at the café and nursery.
The season forms part of wider efforts to transform Al Jabal Al Akhdhar's natural, agricultural and cultural resources into sustainable tourism experiences and strengthen its appeal as a leading destination in Oman. - ONA
