MUSCAT: Oman international playmaker Salah al Yahyaei has officially joined Jordanian giants Al Faisaly on a one-year contract, having recently moved to Al Shabab ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Al Faisaly officially confirmed the signing after the club’s interim administrative committee completed the contractual procedures. The 27-year-old was recruited following a recommendation from the technical staff and the club’s recruitment committee, who identified the Omani midfielder as a key addition ahead of their domestic and continental campaigns.
The move represents another important overseas chapter for Al Yahyaei, who had recently joined Al Shabab from Seeb in preparation for the new Omani season. He will instead continue his career in Jordan with Al Faisaly, preparing to compete in the Jordanian domestic competitions and the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two.
Al Yahyaei’s arrival is expected to provide Al Faisaly with greater creativity in the attacking third. Comfortable operating as a central playmaker, an advanced midfielder or from wider positions, he is known for his close control, vision and ability to deliver from set pieces. His experience in major regional and continental matches should also add composure to the Jordanian club’s midfield.
Al Yahyaei developed through the age-group teams at Seeb before beginning a senior career that has included several leading clubs in Oman and the Gulf. After early spells with Seeb and Fanja, he established himself at Dhofar before returning to his boyhood club.
His first move outside Oman came in January 2022 when he joined Qatar SC on loan. He later represented Al Nahda during the 2023-24 season before moving to Bahraini champions Al Khaldiya for the following campaign. Al Yahyaei returned to Seeb in 2025 and was announced as an Al Shabab player earlier this month before Al Faisaly secured his services.
The midfielder’s most significant club achievement came with Seeb in 2022 when the Omani side made history by becoming the first club from the Sultanate of Oman to lift the AFC Cup. Al Yahyaei played an influential role in the campaign and scored during Seeb’s 2-1 extra-time victory over Kuwait’s Al Arabi in the West Zone semifinal. Seeb later defeated Kuala Lumpur City 3-0 in the final to complete their historic continental triumph.
Al Yahyaei has also collected several domestic honours during his career, including league, cup and Super Cup titles, while building a reputation as one of the most technically gifted Omani players of his generation.
At international level, he progressed through Oman’s age-group teams before establishing himself with the senior national side. He represented Oman at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, in addition to featuring in Arabian Gulf Cup tournaments and Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
