MUSCAT: The Oman Football Association (OFA) has launched the AFC Fitness Coaching Certificate Course Level 1B, with 22 participants taking part in the programme as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the capabilities of Omani football coaches and technical staff.
Organised by the OFA Technical Development Department, the course began on Saturday and is being delivered by AFC instructor Dr Tariq al Banna. It aims to enhance participants’ knowledge of modern fitness coaching principles in line with the latest Asian Football Confederation standards.
The programme combines classroom-based theoretical sessions with practical field applications, covering key aspects of physical preparation, training methodologies and performance development. Participants will gain the skills required to design and implement effective fitness programmes tailored to the demands of modern football.
The Level 1B course forms part of the OFA’s wider coach education and technical development strategy, which focuses on raising the standard of football coaching across the Sultanate of Oman by providing nationally recognised and AFC-accredited training opportunities.
Through a series of technical and educational initiatives, the OFA continues to invest in developing qualified national coaching personnel capable of supporting clubs and national teams while contributing to the long-term growth of football in Oman.
