India, Iran shine as Oman struggle on day two of Asian Hockey5s

Oman endured a difficult second day at the Men’s and Women’s Asian Hockey5s 2026 as the hosts suffered defeats in both competitions, while India and Iran delivered dominant performances at Hockey Oman. In the men’s event, Oman lost 14-0 to India before narrowly going down 4-3 to Bangladesh despite a much-improved display. India strengthened their position at the top of the Men’s Elite category by also defeating Pakistan 7-4, while Iraq claimed their first win with a 4-1 victory over Saudi Arabia.
In the women’s competition, Oman were beaten 11-0 by Iran, who later defeated Pakistan 4-1 to complete a perfect day. India produced the biggest win of the tournament so far with a 16-0 victory over Uzbekistan before drawing 2-2 with China, who later remained unbeaten with a 5-1 win over Kazakhstan. The tournament continues in Muscat through July 25, with teams competing for the continental titles and qualification to the FIH Hockey5s Under-18 World Cup.
