MUSCAT: A henna artist’s undying passion for football is going viral on social media with her lifelike portrayal of iconic players.
Faseela Shoukkath, a housewife living in Oman, is painting Messi, Ronaldo, and Mbappé on the hands of fans who want more.
Faseela started painting and drawing with henna for fun. It is surprising to hear that this artist, who even does Arabic calligraphy pictures with passion, learned all this on their own.
'It was all coincidental. I just wanted to keep pace with my children, who are ardent fans of football, and to be honest, I received my share of inspiration at a young age, from my mother, who used to apply henna at weddings. Since then, I have also been active in painting,' says Faseela as she puts henna on one of her Omani 'fans' hands.
Faseela has actively participated in most competitions held in Oman and won many prizes. She has become a regular winner in henna competitions and calligraphy competitions. She also started working as a freelance henna artist. Faseela has given henna to natives and expatriates from various countries.
Faseela, who has created many decorative items, attributes her success to her husband, Shaukat Ali, a vegetable businessman in Oman and a native of India’s Kerala state, and her five children. Her children, Muhammad Shahal, Aisha Ziya, Irvin Mohammad, Yezid Mohammad, and Hyzin Mohammad, are great supporters of her mother's artistic career.
Passion is finding time to do things even in the midst of a busy schedule. This housewife reminds us that if one is very interested in a subject, all the difficulties will just fade away.
