Muscat:The al Arabi Sports and Cultural Team, affiliated with Al Suwaiq Club, launched its 'Tazeez Programme' for community teams, an initiative organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth with support from OQ Exploration & Production (OQEP).
The programme reflects the team's commitment to supporting sustainable development through cultural, social, economic and volunteer-driven initiatives that address the needs of different segments of society.
The four initiatives include 'Future Pioneers', a cultural programme designed to develop young people's leadership, innovation and cultural skills while preparing them to contribute effectively to society.
The social initiative, 'Sharing Goodness', focuses on collecting reusable furniture and household appliances, refurbishing and distributing them to families in need, promoting social solidarity while encouraging the efficient use of resources.
The economic initiative, 'Technology and Innovation', aims to foster innovation, enhance technical skills and encourage entrepreneurship in line with the requirements of the knowledge-based economy.
Meanwhile, the volunteer initiative, 'Creating Impact', seeks to strengthen the culture of volunteerism by engaging community members in meaningful activities that create lasting social benefits.
The 'Tazeez' programme works as a community platform that integrates volunteer work, cultural development, social empowerment and economic innovation, reflecting its commitment to expanding its role in serving the community.
The programme begins with the launch of Sharing Goodness, under which donations of reusable furniture and household appliances will be collected, sorted and delivered to eligible families through an organised distribution mechanism that safeguards beneficiaries' dignity and ensures donations reach those most in need.
Al Arabi team said the programme represents a step towards developing sustainable initiatives that respond to community needs and reinforce the concept of community partnership. It also called on institutions, individuals and volunteers to support the initiatives and contribute to creating a lasting positive impact.
The team concluded by emphasising that the success of any initiative should be measured not by the number of activities it organises, but by the positive impact it leaves on society. It added that the 'Tazeez programme' will continue to introduce initiatives that promote community service and strengthen the values of giving and cooperation under the slogan: 'Four initiatives... One vision for creating impact.'
